Aroha Technologies, Inc is seeking a Project Manager motivated by variety and professional growth to lead large IT projects for an Investor-Owned Utility client. The role involves managing the delivery of the Electric Service Application Platform (ESAP), ensuring alignment across teams, and overseeing project lifecycles from planning to execution.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full project lifecycle: charter, plan, execution, cutover, and closeout
- Decompose the implementation into discrete use cases and workstreams (e.g., new service requests, DER interconnection intake, workflow automation, system integrations) and manage each to completion
- Drive scope, schedule, budget, and resource plans — keeping them current and honest
- Lead cutover planning, data migration, and operational transition to steady state
- Lead or support the RFP/procurement process to select a platform (e.g., Accela, PowerClerk, GridUnity) and system integrator
- Define and finalize contracts and statements of work
- Hold vendors accountable to deliverables, timelines, and quality standards
- Escalate and resolve vendor issues quickly
- Serve as SCL's primary project representative across customer operations, IT, OT, cybersecurity, and executive leadership
- Build and execute a stakeholder engagement and communications plan
- Surface risks and issues proactively — bring options, not just problems
- Oversee requirements development, design reviews, and configuration decisions in partnership with business owners and the SI
- Manage a rigorous testing program: unit, integration (SIT), and user acceptance (UAT)
- Ensure documentation, SOPs, and training are complete before go-live
- Enforce security and compliance standards consistent with SCL practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related degree with 5 – 7 years of experience as a Project Manager. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- 7+ years of PM experience delivering complex, customer-facing technology implementations
- Experience in the utility, energy, or infrastructure sector — understand how utilities operate, who the stakeholders are, and what 'operational readiness' means in that context
- PMP or equivalent credential (or demonstrated equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-vendor environments and hold system integrators accountable
- Experience managing implementations with significant system integration requirements (WAM, GIS, CRM, customer billing, or similar enterprise platforms)
- Strong stakeholder management skills — comfortable navigating technical, operational, and executive audiences
- Ability to break down large implementations into phased workstreams and manage each independently
- Direct experience with electric service request, permitting, or interconnection workflows
- Familiarity with platforms such as Accela, PowerClerk, GridUnity, or similar intake/workflow tools
- Experience with customer-facing utility applications (self-service portals, service request systems, or similar)
