The Relationship Manager will manage and grow strategic customer relationships within Manulife John Hancock Retirement, acting as a trusted advisor and customer advocate to align customer objectives with business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Customers
- Exhibit strategic relationship management and consultative selling
- Optimize Customer satisfaction and loyalty by aligning Customer objectives with Manulife John Hancock business targets
- Serve as an advocate for the Customer and act as an industry expert
- Contribute in meaningful ways to the broader Strategic Relationship Management team and the John Hancock organization
- Achieve all annual metrics – retention, customer profitability, and engagement
- Learn Manulife John Hancock Retirement products, features, and services and apply as appropriate
- Effectively manage internal and external customer relationships and leverage available resources
- Exhibit consultative selling and negotiation skills; optimize product features, plan design, and employee retirement readiness
- Demonstrate executive presence and subject matter expertise to instill confidence and strategically influence outcomes that align Customer and Manulife John Hancock objectives
- Follow all company and department-level processes and procedures, including meeting materials preparation and presentation format, travel and expense, CRM documentation, and data integrity
- Support new sales and market development initiatives
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License
- FINRA Series 6 or 7, and 63 or 66, State Insurance licensing, or ability to obtain required licenses within 6 months
- Experience in retirement, financial services, or institutional relationship management
- Proven track record managing strategic or complex customer accounts
- Experience influencing senior-level customer and internal stakeholders
- Understanding of retirement plan design and employee financial wellness strategies
- Ability to develop strategy, set goals, and pivot effectively in dynamic environments
- Demonstrated initiative, motivation, accountability, and resilience in a changing environment
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze complex customer relationships and execute against strategic goals
- Strong business acumen, executive presence, and communication skills
- Proven ability to build rapport and partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders
