Principal Engineer, IP Rights Management

Adeia Inc. is a technology company known for developing foundational innovations for the semiconductor and media industries. They are seeking a Principal Engineer in IP Rights Management to contribute to their IP Licensing business by analyzing competitor products and assisting in patent-related infringement analyses.

Responsibilities:

• Infringement detection: Analysis of competitor and target products and perform reverse engineering; network traffic extraction monitoring, and testing
• Patent claim charting and assertion: Assist in the preparation of patent-related infringement analyses and develop compelling evidence that clearly demonstrates infringement
• Patent mining: Identify patents relevant to particular products and services from the existing portfolio and unlock new value from the portfolio
• Conduct technical due diligence review in connection with potential patent acquisitions

Requirements:

• 10+ years of technical industry experience in the communications networking industry, including technologies and applications development, with an emphasis on wireless networks and systems
• Experience in patent analyses, including evidence of use development and claim charting
• Advanced degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, communications networking, or substantially similar technical field
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate a compelling point of view
• Ability to work independently and effectively on multiple projects
• Experience across consumer and industrial electronic devices and systems, including mobile devices and home automation
• Exposure to communication networks, including WAN, LAN, access and enterprise networks, data centers, and cellular wireless technologies such as 5G/6G, WiFi, and Bluetooth
• Exposure to emerging technologies, including AI/ML, data sciences, and security
• Strong project management skills in complex technical environments
• Demonstrated ability to influence and lead individuals and teams that do not directly report to you
