Open Source Applied Engineer Talent Network | Remote

Crossing Hurdles is seeking an Open Source Applied Engineer to join their talent network. The role involves designing evaluations for coding tasks, developing test cases, analyzing system behavior, and contributing to open-source projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and oversee evaluations for coding tasks across multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, C, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Develop test cases to assess system performance across diverse engineering scenarios
• Analyze system behavior on real-world use cases to identify strengths and areas for improvement
• Communicate evaluation insights and results effectively to research teams
• Contribute to high-impact open-source projects and support system optimization

Requirements:

• Strong experience in open-source contributions with an active GitHub or similar profile
• Strong experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C, JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Deep familiarity with widely-used libraries, frameworks, and development tools
• Strong understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, and scalable code patterns
• Strong collaboration skills with experience working in distributed and asynchronous teams
• Ability to independently identify areas of improvement and execute solutions with minimal oversight
• Experience using Git, CI/CD systems, and open-source workflows
