Armada is a full-stack edge infrastructure company known for delivering compute, connectivity, and sovereign AI/ML solutions globally. They are seeking a Civil Site Engineer to lead the interpretation and application of civil infrastructure requirements for modular data center deployments, ensuring compliance with local codes and facilitating effective site preparation and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Own interpretation of civil and site development requirements impacting modular data center deployments, including:
- Site preparation, grading, and access
- Foundations, anchoring, and structural interfaces
- Utility coordination (power, grounding, water, drainage)
- Fire/life safety site considerations (setbacks, access, egress)
- Evaluate jurisdiction-specific codes, permitting pathways, and AHJ expectations
- Identify constraints affecting module siting, layout, and deployment feasibility
- Support design development as needed by translating site conditions, permitting constraints, utility requirements, and constructability considerations into actionable inputs for engineering and external GC's/civil consultants
- Partner with product, engineering, and delivery teams to:
- Translate civil requirements into clear constraints, risks, and design inputs
- Provide early-stage feasibility assessments and go/no-go recommendations
- Prevent non-standard site conditions from driving late-stage design changes
- Support customer deployments by:
- Assessing site-specific civil readiness
- Coordinating with OEM partners and local civil consultants
- Advising on alignment with Armada’s standard SKUs vs. required customization
- Develop and maintain:
- Civil requirement guidelines for modular deployments
- Site readiness and permitting checklists by geography
- Documentation that standardizes civil assumptions across projects
- Capture recurring requirements and regional patterns to:
- Improve deployment speed and consistency
- Inform product and platform evolution
Requirements:
- 6+ years in civil engineering, site development, or infrastructure delivery
- Experience with data centers, critical facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to operate across permitting, site execution, and cross-functional teams
- Experience managing consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders
- Strong understanding of site development (grading, drainage, access, utilities)
- Foundations and structural interfaces for prefabricated or modular systems
- Utility coordination, especially electrical service and grounding
- Fire/life safety considerations at the site level
- Ability to interpret codes, standards, and AHJ requirements and translate them into actionable guidance
