Mutual of Omaha is seeking a Business Systems Analyst who will focus on API solutions as part of a mission-critical initiative for Workplace Solutions. The role involves creating documentation, building an understanding of business processes, and performing testing to ensure requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Create documentation throughout the project development lifecycle, including capturing process flows, documenting system information, gathering and analyzing requirements, and supporting the development of API solutions
- Build your understanding of the department’s business processes, compliance, and workflows and apply that knowledge to your daily activities. May include reporting and production support
- Create test plans, test scripts, and performs manual or automated testing for enhancements, upgrades and on-going maintenance to ensure that business, technical, and functional requirements are being met
- Communicate and present information effectively, both through written communications and verbally
- You will have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge of Workplace Solutions, work with diverse teams and have exposure to leadership
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in business analysis with strong experience in working with APIs, including analyzing, testing, and validating API functionality
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and Swagger for validating functionality, performance, and security
- Leverage your critical thinking skills to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring seamless alignment with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Take ownership of tasks and projects, making informed decisions to drive timely and efficient delivery
- Apply a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do
- Ability to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
- Proficiency in automated testing frameworks like Karate with ability to design, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for APIs to enhance test coverage, streamline validation, and improve software quality and reliability
- Experience supporting the exchange of employee and benefit data with third‑party partners like Ben Admins using APIs to ensure accurate, secure, and timely transmission of employee eligibility, enrollment, and demographic data
- Prior experience working in the insurance industry
