The Staff Analytics Engineer will independently design, build, and evolve robust data models that drive reporting and business intelligence, collaborating with analysts and data scientists to translate complex requirements into effective data solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Independently design, build, and evolve robust data models that drive reporting, business intelligence, and application-facing data layers
- Architect and maintain dimensional models using Kimball methodology, focusing on fact and dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions, and schema design
- Build and manage ELT pipelines utilizing dbt and SQL frameworks, ensuring models are modular, well-tested, and production-ready
- Optimize query performance and cost efficiency across large-scale data models, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and product engineers to translate complex requirements into effective data solutions
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering or data engineering, with a proven track record of owning complex data systems from design to production
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with a deep understanding of complex transformations, CTEs, window functions, and query performance tuning
- Strong experience in Kimball dimensional modeling, including designing fact/dimension table structures and handling SCDs
- Hands-on experience with ELT/dbt projects in a production environment
- Systems-level architectural thinking, with a focus on maintainability and long-term scalability
