Job Description: Mainframe Tech Lead
Technical Lead Mainframes
Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead with 12 15 years of mainframe development experience to lead development teams and ensure technical excellence across our mainframe applications.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead analysis, design, and development of critical mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
Manage and mentor a team of mainframe developers, providing direction and fostering skill development.
Define and enforce architectural standards participate in and lead design sessions for complex solutions.
Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices conduct regular code reviews.
Design scalable technical solutions to complex business problems.
Monitor and optimize application performance implement tuning strategies.
Coordinate with offshore development teams to align priorities and deliverables.
Work closely with QA to define testing strategies and support automation initiatives.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and assess feasibility.
Present technical designs and project status to senior management.
Required Skills and Experience:
12 15 years of experience in mainframe development and leadership roles.
Strong expertise in IBM mainframes and core technologies: COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
Experience with tools such as Xpediter, Abend-AID, File Manager, ADCP, and GitHub.
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience familiarity with AgileScrum methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Hands-on development experience required profiles limited to production-support-only will not be considered.
