This position is a member of our PST-DCRP (Petroleum Storage Tank-Dry Cleaner Programs) Section of the Remediation Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Plan and coordinate all phases of project management of remediation projects, involving moderately complex geoscience work, in accordance with PST/DCRP (Petroleum Storage Tank/Dry Cleaner Programs) Section guidelines; evaluate technical submittals for adherence to regulations and specified contract requirements, draft documents to address technical reviews and queries, and develop scopes of work for site investigations and corrective actions.
Oversee contracts/work orders to achieve corrective action at PST/DCRP Section sites.
Review invoices under prevailing agency guidelines and required time frames.
Communicate with internal staff, the regulated community, consultants, and other governmental entities on technical expertise, laws, regulations, and policies.
Perform special technical or administrative tasks as assigned. Represent the agency at technical functions, seminars, and external meetings.
Update databases and maintain project files.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in conducting or reviewing environmental investigations of contaminated sites.
Experience interpreting Petroleum Storage Tank regulations at contaminated sites.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Licensed as a Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG).
OR
Five years of full-time geoscientist experience and must be licensed as a Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) or obtain licensure within twelve (12) months of hire date.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Geoscientist I-III state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Geoscientist I-III series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Remediation Division.
