Meade Engineering is a full-service design firm specializing in innovative engineering solutions for data centers and large-scale construction projects. They are seeking an experienced Substation Engineer III to drive physical designs for electrical substations and oversee high/medium voltage electrical distribution for large-scale data center campuses.
Responsibilities:
- Independently drive physical designs for electrical substations throughout design and construction phases (both new construction and upgrades/retrofits)
- Design high and medium voltage electrical distribution for large scale data center campuses
- Oversee the production of one-line diagrams, conceptual designs, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding, specifications, and any additional drawings needed to complete a comprehensive set of construction documents to build substations of varying sizes
- Work amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams and manufacturers
- Major equipment selection and scheduling
- Lead QA/QC process and sign off on engineering documents
- Perform substation testing and commissioning as needed
- Develop proposals (scope of work, estimate, etc.)
Requirements:
- 4+ years of Professional Substation Engineering design experience designing high/medium voltage power distribution, physical design, transmission line design, etc
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff
- Strong understanding of electrical codes
- Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
- Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team and lead others
- Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Valid Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
