BerryDunn is a client-centered professional services firm seeking a Senior Consultant/Project Manager to join their State Government Practice Group, focusing on state Health and Human Services agency clients. The role involves leading project teams, managing deliverables related to IT systems planning and procurement, and ensuring high-quality services are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Lead BerryDunn projects providing services for state HHS agency clients, such as project management, IT system planning and procurement support, business process improvement/analysis, organizational and operational assessments, strategic planning, IT and data governance, workforce assessment and development, IV&V, implementation and IT solution vendor management/oversight
- Lead and support delivery of services to clients on time and within budget, including assigning and managing staff and overseeing development of deliverables such as IT systems assessments, needs assessments, gap analyses, requirements traceability matrices (RTMs), IT solution vendor procurement documents, federal Advance Planning Documents, IV&V reports, and QA/testing documents
- Develop project approaches and work plans, and coordinate task assignments across project team members accordingly
- Report on project status (written and verbal)—including risks and issues—to different audiences, including client executive leadership
- Inspire and motivate the project teams you lead, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients
- Facilitate meetings and interviews with client stakeholders with confidence and professionalism
- Maintain a strong focus on providing high quality services and deliverables, in adherence with BerryDunn's Consulting Quality Management Program
- Play a role in developing staff; contribute to maintaining and building a positive, fun, and innovative HHS team culture; and participate in and/or lead training and other learning and development activities
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute
- 4+ years of experience working with and/or for state government agencies
- Technology-related education, experience, and/or expertise
- Knowledge of state government HHS programs and services
- A strong customer focus
- Demonstrated experience leading project teams
- Experience in and a desire to coach and mentor junior team members
- An ability to balance strong attention to detail with a focus on the bigger picture
- Effective project management and organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and focused during busy or challenging times
- Excellent written communication skills, including documenting complex issues succinctly and logically
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills, including articulating complex issues to a variety of audiences
- The ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner
- The ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with staff and diverse constituencies and to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Microsoft (MS) Office suite skills and experience, including MS PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Excel
- IT and management consulting experience
- Experience with business development (e.g., writing proposals)
- Staff development experience
