CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Project Manager III to join our Fire Protection Services Team in a fully remote capacity. In this senior-level role, you’ll take ownership of high-impact fire protection projects—overseeing technical delivery, financial performance, and client relationships from kickoff through closeout.
Responsibilities:
- Lead fire protection projects from planning through installation, commissioning, and closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals are met
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing technical, financial, and logistical needs to deliver successful outcomes
- Develop project plans, schedules, and Quality Management Plans in coordination with technical and operations teams
- Manage contracts, change orders, subcontractors, and project documentation to keep work moving efficiently and accurately
- Oversee project financials including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and billings to maintain strong performance
- Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and next steps to clients, leadership, and project teams
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, AHJ requirements, and CHA health and safety standards through field oversight and inspections
- Mentor technicians and junior project management staff as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 9 years of fire protection experience required
- Minimum of 6 years of project management experience required
- Strong knowledge of fire protection industry including NFPA code requirements and OSHA safety standards required
- Expert knowledge of project engineering and/or general construction principles and construction schedule
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and interpreting client contract requirements
- Proven ability to prepare proposals, project plans, change orders, extra work authorizations, and closeout documentation
- Advanced skills in project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other management software
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and Revit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid drivers license required with the ability to travel as needed
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Deltek Vision preferred
- Consulting industry experience preferred
- NICET certification preferred; project management certification a plus
