Sr. Software Engineer (Oracle PL/SQL)

Odesus, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Database (Oracle PL/SQL) to join their Media & Entertainment client on a contract basis. The role focuses on building scalable backend systems to enhance operational efficiency and reporting across multiple platforms, collaborating closely with engineers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Translate complex business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, and database objects
• Design and build reports using Jasper Reports or similar reporting tools
• Develop and support system interfaces and data conversion processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and data-related issues
• Optimize database performance through tuning and best practices
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to development standards
• Collaborate with engineers and business analysts to integrate system components
• Participate in technical and functional discussions for ongoing initiatives
• Build strong understanding of television production workflows and data models
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity
• Work in an Agile/Scrum development environment

Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Expert-level backend development using Oracle PL/SQL
• Strong experience with Jasper Reports or similar reporting tools
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Candidates residing on the West Coast and those easily able to work Pacific time zone is highly preferred
