CAD Engineer – OpenSCAD (Parametric Modeling) | Remote

Crossing Hurdles is seeking an OpenScad Expert to lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects. The role involves developing parametric scripts, creating complex 3D models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects from requirements gathering to final model export
• Develop and structure parametric scripts with reusable modules for efficient design workflows
• Apply CSG techniques to create complex 3D models and perform 2D-to-3D transformations
• Iterate on models with logical, script-driven decision-making and engineering reasoning
• Prepare and export files in standard formats ensuring manufacturing compatibility
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate design processes
• Document workflows, design rationale, and technical decisions for AI-driven applications

Requirements:

• Strong experience with OpenSCAD and completion of full design projects
• Solid knowledge of CAD fundamentals and Constructive Solid Geometry concepts
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software tools
• Ability to create, optimize, and document reusable parametric scripts and modules
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving approach
