The Risk Management & Compliance Chief Data Office (CDO) plays a pivotal role in keeping JPMorgan Chase strong, resilient, and forward-looking. As a Vice President in the Risk Management & Compliance Chief Data Office, you will partner with global teams to run data governance operations and support Data Owner organizations. You will help Risk Management & Compliance meet firmwide data management standards and regulatory requirements while delivering value to Risk stakeholders. Additionally, you will translate complex data risk topics into clear, compelling stories for senior audiences, using strong analytical and visualization skills. You will have the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives, innovate, and collaborate in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive relationship management activities for Corporate Risk Functions and CIB Risk Data Owner organizations, leveraging expertise in business and data risks to influence key decisions and outcomes.
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve end-to-end delivery of Data Governance Operations for Risk Management & Compliance Chief Data Office, including Risk Management & Compliance Inventory Management, Data Risk Metrics Production, Firmwide Data Strategy Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), and Risk Management & Compliance Data Management Council execution.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and represent Risk Management & Compliance Chief Data Office in Risk Management & Compliance and Firmwide Data Risk working groups and implementation forums, influencing operating models and procedures and translating outcomes into actionable steps for Data Owner organizations.
- Organize and lead meetings, working sessions, and project management activities with key stakeholders, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues
- Collaborate with business, technology, and control teams to implement Data related initiatives (for example, Data Governance Lifecycle, Firmwide Data Strategy initiatives).
- Prepare high-quality materials for senior stakeholders, including Risk Management & Compliance Control Committees and the Risk Management & Compliance Data Management Council.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with firmwide data management policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement of the Risk Management & Compliance data governance framework
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data, risk management, or financial services, with demonstrated experience managing risk and governance in data‑intensive environments
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, functions, and regions
- High level of intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels and across functional areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and clearly articulate complex data and risk topics for senior audiences
- Hands‑on experience building, maintaining, and improving intelligent solutions tooling, particularly Alteryx and Tableau (or similar data preparation and visualization tools)
- Advanced organizational skills and adaptability; able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Knowledge of banking and financial services, including regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk and control frameworks
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in management consulting, internal consulting, or a similar advisory/strategic role
- Proven project/program management experience leading multi‑year data governance or data transformation initiatives
- Advanced understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices
- Experience designing and implementing stakeholder communication and engagement processes
- Expertise in metadata management and data lineage, including tools and processes used to document and trace data flows
