They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with prior payments experience to join their enterprise payments team, focusing on building innovative solutions for payment infrastructure. The role involves running a modern service-oriented architecture, solving complex performance problems, and collaborating across teams to enhance product offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Run a modern, containerized service-oriented architecture using industry-leading software development practices
- Ship code to production many times a day
- Solve complex performance problems, empower a data-driven business and scale our software to support our booming business
- Build performant, beautiful, inclusive user interfaces that delight our users and enhance our brand
- Evaluate new technologies and improve our software stack to keep our technological edge
- Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to bring ideas to life faster than ever while upholding SeatGeek’s technical and product standards; no token limits
- Work across teams and discipline boundaries to develop the best product in our industry
- Own large areas of the payments stack, from design through operation, including reliability, cost, and performance outcomes
- Iterate and develop against our native payment processing solution, including growing usage across our US and EMEA client base
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Risk, and Product to define and deliver payment strategies

- Experience owning end-to-end payment systems and integrations with external processors (e.g., Stripe, Adyen), including designing resilient, idempotent workflows and handling real-world failure modes
- Experience operating payment systems in production, including monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization (e.g., authorization rates, cost efficiency)
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Finance, and Risk to deliver payment solutions aligned with business goals
- Experience leading projects or mentoring engineers, with interest in growing into a broader technical or people leadership role
- Experience ensuring financial correctness through reconciliation, auditability, and robust data modeling
