Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with provincial regulations and applicable safety requirements for employees and contractors.
- Support implementation of site-specific safety plans, including job safety analysis, safe work practices, and risk assessments.
- Assist management in meeting Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance requirements.
- Support Joint Health and Safety Committees in fulfilling legislative responsibilities.
- Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Report workplace injuries to appropriate regulatory bodies and maintain documentation.
- Continuously improve EHS programs by updating hazard assessments, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain and review safety records within EHS systems and communicate updates.
- Support and deliver safety training programs both virtually and in-person.
- Assist in supplier pre-qualification processes related to safety compliance.
- Monitor and support certification processes and project-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and travel to project locations as required.
Required Skills And Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Environmental Health & Safety program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in construction.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and workers compensation requirements.
- Expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Experience with safety management systems and industry standards.
- Strong leadership and ability to influence safety culture.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with certification and compliance programs related to safety management.
- Familiarity with EHS management systems and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work independently in remote or dynamic work environments.
