Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Ensure safe work environment for self and others by complying with all safety rules, requirements, and programs, as well as making suggestions to improve safety of the facility and personnel.
- Provide hands on sanitation training.
- Coordinate sanitation activities for the shift and provide updates on progress to shift Team Leaders every 4 hours.
- Work with shift Team Leaders to address personnel issues.
- Input EAM/Oracle Notifications, pull up and complete sanitation work orders.
- Maintain sanitation tools and equipment.
- Maintain chemical cages in a clean, organized manner, keep the cages locked and ensure new shipments of chemicals are properly put away upon receipt.
- Make minor repairs and adjustments to the chemical dispensing station or request service by Ecolab.
- Assist with outside vendor visits and maintain a good professional relationship with them.
- Assist ground maintenance with outside pest control.
- Develop and write sanitation procedures.
- Audit and ensure sanitation procedures are being followed.
- Ensure period cleaning, special cleaning, and project cleaning are completed safely and on time.
- Conduct re-certification on sanitation procedures for employees.
- Ensure the external steps (Prep for cleaning) are completed prior to equipment going down.
- Verify Sanitation Sequencing is being followed and retrain employees as needed to drive compliance.
- Assist with hands on cleaning of equipment as needed.
- Help maintain and sustain 5S and GMP’s.
- Audit to ensure sanitation paperwork is completed correctly, timely and in full
- Authorize Confined Space Supervisor
- Complete monthly safety assessment and perform non-routine task evaluations.
- Uphold cleanliness standards for the different types of sanitation and conduct post cleaning walks with operators to show areas missed.
- Understand and practice compliance to all policies and procedures.
- Comply and actively participate in all safety, environmental, policies, procedures and programs.
- Serve as the coordinator for sanitation activities during the shift
- Perform area housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Management reserves the right, as it deems necessary to assign jobs on a temporary basis in any manner that supports efficient plant operations.
Qualifications:
Basic or minimum Qualifications/Abilities:
- Must have and maintain a good attendance record.
- Must be computer literate, organized and capable of learning/demonstrating correct use of Fort Smith computer systems. (E.g. EAM, Quality Suites, etc.)
- Must be able to communicate effectively and work closely with multiple individuals across different positions and skill levels.
- Must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to walk, stand, and sit for the duration of shift
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead
- Wear all Required Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, to perform job tasks
- Ascend/Descend stairs and ladders throughout shift
- Lift up to up to 50 pounds independently, and heavier weights with assistance
- Able to give and understand instructions and hold conversations in manufacturing environment, as well as an office or classroom setting
- Communicate with co-workers face to face, radio, and phone.
- Must possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment, disassemble and reassemble equipment, operate a computer and other standard office equipment
- Utilize phone and email for communication
- Vision adequate to manipulate equipment controls, complete paperwork, utilize computers, and have depth perception.
- Able to work at heights when needed, including use of scissor lift and genie boom.
Location and Shift:
- Fort Smith, AR
- Shifts are 12 hours, working three days one week and four days the next week.
