Your Purpose as a Service Advisor:
Responsible for greeting customers, assessing their service needs, and managing the repair process from write-up to close. If a vehicle requires additional repairs not covered in the original order, estimates the additional cost and contacts the customer for authorization. Also advises customers on other available services and proper vehicle care.
In Your Role:
- Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner, gathers vehicle and customer information, and identifies mechanical issues through questioning, visual inspection, or road test.
- Prepares repair orders with clear descriptions, provides accurate estimates for labor and parts, establishes promised completion times, and obtains customer authorization and payment method.
- Reviews service history and vehicle condition, advises customers on routine maintenance and recommended repairs, and inspects for body damage with estimates as needed.
- Contacts customers regarding changes to estimates or timelines, secures authorization for additional work, and monitors repair progress to ensure timely completion.
- Schedules appointments, handles telephone inquiries, coordinates with the service team, and notifies appropriate personnel of incoming work.
- Reviews completed repair orders, confirms all work is documented and authorized, and explains charges and work performed to customers at closing.
- Maintains service forms, pricing guides, and quality control processes; ensures vehicles are properly parked, keys labeled, and the work area is clean and organized.
- Handles customer concerns professionally and maintains high satisfaction standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle
Additional Qualifications:
- Prior experience in automotive service, retail, or a customer-facing technical role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical information in customer-friendly terms
- Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accurate documentation and follow-through
