Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Assistant supports the Quality Department by assisting with inspection activities, documentation control, data entry, and compliance with company and regulatory quality standards. This role helps ensure products, processes, and records meet established requirements and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Tool calibration control:
o Schedule on site calibration as required
o Identify, locate, and send out identified tools for calibration, prior to due dates
o Obtain quotes for new tool purchases or repairs of company owned tools
Shelf-Life Control:
o Management of shelf-life controlled and Hazardous materials, including monitoring expiration dates and ensuring proper disposal prior to expiration date.
o Maintain, update, and control Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
o Coordinate with vendors to obtain touch up kits as needed.
o Work with Mechanical Assembly to support shelf-life/HazMat material needs
o Perform sealant testing of dried test coupons to ensure they are void of deviation from specifications.
Historical Document Control:
o Verified all closed travelers are complete and free of missing information.
o Scan, file, and maintain closed travelers for historical documentation and traceability.
Inspection:
o Shipping pack slip buy-off and validation
o Perform part marking and re-marking, particularly prior to shipping.
o Conduct receiving inspection of items being returned from outside processing
o Manage Material Review Board (MRB) items, including receiving and tracking parts awaiting review.
Tertiary Responsibilities:
o Coordination with front office personnel to support operational needs
o Create Purchase Orders for quality-related items and services.
o Provide periodic inventory support as needed
o Perform other duties as assigned to support the Quality Department and/or plant

Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required
• Basic understanding of quality systems or manufacturing processes preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, or inspection criteria
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, data entry systems)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) preferred
• Preferred prior experience with document control or audits
