HYR Global Source Inc is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in healthcare analytics. The role involves leveraging healthcare data to generate insights, improve patient outcomes, and support decision-making through advanced analytics and machine learning models.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning models for healthcare use cases (e.g., patient risk stratification, readmission prediction, fraud detection)
- Work with large-scale structured and unstructured healthcare datasets (EHR, claims, clinical, and operational data)
- Write complex, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines in collaboration with data engineering teams
- Translate business and clinical requirements into data science solutions
- Develop predictive and prescriptive models using techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning
- Perform feature engineering and model evaluation to ensure high performance and reliability
- Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders, including clinicians, executives, and product teams
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA or local equivalents)
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices in analytics and model development
Requirements:
- Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- 5–8+ years of experience in data science, with significant exposure to healthcare analytics
- Strong expertise in SQL (advanced querying, performance tuning, data modeling)
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and machine learning
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
- Experience working with healthcare datasets (EHR, EMR, claims, payer/provider data)
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling and data analysis techniques
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
