Mainframe Hardware Configuration Engineer

Fiserv is a global leader in Fintech and payments, connecting financial institutions, corporations, merchants, and consumers. The Mainframe Hardware Configuration Engineer will be responsible for configuring mainframe hardware in data centers, diagnosing hardware issues, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability of systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and configure mainframe hardware systems to meet our global mainframe infrastructures needs
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Monitor system performance and adjust to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Work closely with software engineers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and operation of hardware and software systems
• Maintain detailed documentation of hardware configurations, changes, and maintenance activities including connectivity diagrams
• Utilize the IOCP mainframe to define and manage the input and output configurations
• Participate in datacenter relocations, client migrations, and disaster recovery exercises

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in mainframe hardware, software engineering
• 7+ years of experience in mainframe hardware components, system architecture, and troubleshooting techniques
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military service
• In order to be considered, you must be a U.S. Citizen due to contractual obligations
• Understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, subnetting, and load balancing strategies
• Certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist) may be advantageous
