The Senior Special Structural Analysis Engineer will collaborate with a team to apply structural analysis and design principles to projects for nuclear facilities, guiding less experienced members and ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of Structural Engineers
- Interface with Engineers from other disciplines
- Guide the work of less experienced Project Team Members
- Prepare and review design calculations
- Develop specifications
- Support designers with drawing development
- Perform the structural analysis of safety-related structures under various loading conditions
- Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs
Requirements:
- MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Five or more years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of structures
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STRUDL, SASSI, ANSYS, or LS-DYNA
- Proficiency with analysis and design codes and standards such as ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ph.D. degree
- Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures
- On site construction support experience
- PE or SE license
- Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows
