DrFirst is a Healthcare IT company that has been empowering providers and patients for 25 years through intelligent medication management. They are seeking a technically sharp Engineering Intern to join their Provider Solutions team, where the intern will work on AI tools for marketing enablement and content creation challenges alongside experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Use DrFirst’s internal knowledge base and Claude-powered tools to generate production-ready marketing assets — including one-pagers, product slicks, handouts, and lightweight marketing web pages
- Support marketing collateral and content needs for the ERX Retail (e-prescribing) product line
- Drive AI-assisted content creation for the ERX Enterprise product suite, including Gadget
- Operate and extend Claude-based workflows to reduce manual content development lift for the team
- Identify friction points in existing AI workflows and propose or implement improvements
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing team members on cross-functional Provider Solutions initiatives
- Learn to navigate internal tools and knowledge systems, with guidance and training provided
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated AI project experience — a personal or contributed project involving an LLM tool or API, with a public artifact (GitHub repo, live demo, or write-up) preferred
- Hands-on experience working with an LLM API or SDK (OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, or equivalent) in a real use case beyond end-user chat
- Ability to operate with ambiguity, think structurally about discovery and problem-solving, and prioritize value over features
- Effective written and verbal communication skills appropriate for a professional remote team environment
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, ask proactive questions, and manage time within a structured 9–5 EST schedule
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, context management, or output parsing when working with LLMs
- Prior experience building tools or workflows that leverage a knowledge base or document corpus
- Exposure to marketing or sales enablement content (one-pagers, product briefs, web copy) as an output of technical work
- Experience with healthcare IT, e-prescribing, or related regulated industries
- Prior internship or project work involving AI integration, content automation, or product-adjacent engineering
