Mechanical Technician
Location: Monroe, NC Onsite

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Heat treat parts, tools, and materials involving:
- Carburizing
- Plating
- Hardening
- Tempering
- Annealing
- Stress relieving
- Read thermometers, ammeters, voltmeters, indicating, and recording instruments
- Use measuring equipment
- Complete quality forms and other required paperwork
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area
- Set up induction heaters
- Run trial heats
- Determine required:
- Voltage
- Current
- Frequency
- Feeds
- Speed
- Type of induction coil
- Water flow
- Check sample pieces for hardness and distortion
- Interpret samples for correct hardening technique
- Use material handling equipment
- Recognize and immediately correct difficulties or errors without assistance, or identify when issues are due to machines, equipment, or material
- Perform duties without assistance, except on unusual or difficult jobs
- Consistently produce work of proper quality and required quantity
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment, including scales and calipers
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Self-driven and able to self-manage
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
