Job Overview:
We are seeking a Platform Operations Engineer with strong experience in AWS cloud environments and event-driven serverless architecture. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation using Python or JavaScript. This role focuses on building and supporting scalable cloud platforms while collaborating with engineering teams to improve developer experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation (75%)
- Design and implement cloud solutions following Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices.
- Build and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Develop internal tools and scripts to automate the cloud infrastructure lifecycle.
- Work closely with engineering, security, infrastructure, and networking teams to design and implement platform capabilities.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and cloud trends to improve platform performance and scalability.
- Contribute to the growth of the Cloud Engineering Program through design improvements and technical leadership.
Team Operations & Support (25%)
- Implement and maintain cloud-first architecture solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and demos.
- Perform peer reviews of code and engineering artifacts.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot platform infrastructure and services.
- Assist in resolving production and system issues and ensure adherence to security and development standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, automation, and orchestration tools.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and distributed cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with event-driven serverless architecture in AWS.
- Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, Step Functions, EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB is preferred.
- Programming or scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or React.js.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with the capability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
