The Sr. Director Cloud Development and Sales Engineering role is a high-impact leadership position responsible for developing strategic technical engagements across North America, aligning customer needs with engineering teams, and fostering partnerships to support the company’s expanding storage product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Quickly develop new relationships with key technical decision makers within the industry in the rapidly evolving Storage infrastructure
- Introduce Western Digital’s product portfolio at these companies and influence customer sentiment to utilize and partner with Western Digital
- Delivery technical presentations on our products and technology to key technical stakeholders including CTOs and Product managers
- Foster collaboration between our Engineering and Sales Organization leaders to align on our technology roadmaps and the messaging to our customers on our strategy and future direction
- Work closely with our Sales and Marketing organization to develop their technical skills and partner on the engagement of new customers
- Utilize their Storage solution architecture expertise to educate and influence both internal and external stakeholders on the future direction of storage technologies
Requirements:
- Enterprise storage expertise with a strong foundation in either HDD or SSD technologies
- Cloud experience: Deep understanding of how storage integrates with cloud environments and its role in enterprise systems
- Proven track record in pre-sales, solution design, and customer engagement
- Proven ability to articulate and quantify the value of software solutions, including ROI and organization benefits
- Customer obsession: A relentless focus on understanding and addressing customer needs
- Strategic situational awareness: Ability to decipher unspoken customer needs, synthesize insights, and uncover opportunities
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
- Experience running executive-level meetings and engaging with customer leadership to build trust and influence decisions
- Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with customers and internal teams to deliver shared goals
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical understanding with a focus on business outcomes
- Leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading customer-facing teams to deliver exceptional results
- Progressive years of work experience developing or marketing storage products and architectures
- Advanced and demonstrated experience of team leadership
- Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- MBA or equivalent experience is an asset
