Moultrie is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and is a leader in game feeders and cellular camera innovation. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will own mechanical design from concept through production, collaborating with various teams to develop innovative and manufacturable products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design from early concept through final production — you own it start to finish
- Develop new technologies and products that push the market forward while maintaining Moultrie's quality standards
- Enhance existing products to improve performance, meet evolving requirements, and deliver on financial goals
- Take industrial design surfaces and engineer them into injection-molded production parts
- Define factory specifications and critical dimensions; partner with sourcing and manufacturing to ensure quality and durability
- Create and execute designs for both new products and changes to existing lines
- Generate, maintain, and communicate product specification documents; submit engineering changes to manufacturing on schedule
- Develop and execute test protocols grounded in real-world product use to validate function and durability
- Perform mold analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and first article inspections (FAIs)
- Maintain disciplined engineering procedures throughout the NPD process to hit cost, reliability, and manufacturing targets
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Customer Service throughout the product lifecycle
- Drive ODM/JDM partners to deliver required results
- Support product launches at manufacturing facilities and assembly plants
- Stay aligned with release timelines across brand project teams
Requirements:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of product development experience as a mechanical engineer
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD — Creo or SolidWorks preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative, practical solutions
- Experience with injection-molded plastic part design and DFM principles
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and quality validation methods
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Background in hunting, outdoor sporting goods, or consumer hardware
- Familiarity with Moultrie products or the outdoor/wildlife monitoring market
- Experience with root-cause analysis and developing short- and long-term countermeasures
