Data Engineering Manager

They are seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team in building and evolving a modern data platform on GCP, ensuring reliable and scalable data flows that support analytics and operational workflows across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• The evolution of a scalable GCP data platform that supports analytics and machine learning
• Data pipelines that transform complex scientific data into trusted, usable datasets
• Strong engineering practices around quality, observability and performance
• A culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement
• Effective partnership between data engineering, data science and research teams
• The ongoing development and growth of data engineers through mentorship and coaching

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing data engineering teams in production environments
• Strong hands-on background with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GCS)
• Excellent Python and SQL skills within modern data stacks
• Experience designing platforms that support analytics and ML use cases
• Clear communicator across engineering, product and scientific stakeholders
• Exposure to scientific, biotech or ML-heavy environments
• Experience supporting feature engineering or ML-ready datasets
• Familiarity with orchestration and workflow tooling
