Principal Product Designer, FinTech

Engine is transforming business travel into something personalized, rewarding, and simple. They are seeking a Principal Product Designer to lead their FinTech Design efforts, focusing on creating user-friendly payment experiences and complex billing portals.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely across disciplines to define and deliver features that meet real user needs
• Turn complex ideas into clear, simple flows
• Design for the best outcomes
• Build trust and collaboration with product, engineering, and design peers while raising the quality bar across the org
• Lead design reviews, refine how we gather feedback and make decisions
• Continuously push fellow designers to sharpen their craft and clarity

Requirements:

• 8+ years' experience with a mastery of the full 0-1 product development process—from product planning and discovery to concepts, build-ready designs, prototypes
• Extensive experience in FinTech domains and a product focus in spend management, card issuing, bill payment, insights and more
• Strong UX foundation and experience building net-new products
• Strong craft in visual, interaction, and UX design with a focus on simplicity, utility, and delight
• Proven experience managing stakeholders in partnership with PMs, engineers, data, and executives
• Proficiency in modern design tools like Figma, design systems, and emerging AI tech such as Pencil / Cursor
• Clear communication and storytelling skills—you can explain not just what you designed, but why
• Strategic influence and proven experience in shaping Design strategy
