Hampton North is partnering with a Series B cybersecurity startup to seek a Forward Deployed Engineer who will work closely with various customers to deploy and operationalize their detection platform. The role involves designing, deploying, and scaling solutions while collaborating with customers and internal teams to shape product direction.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy solutions across on-prem, cloud, hybrid, and SaaS environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Architect secure, scalable infrastructure aligned with enterprise constraints and compliance requirements
- Build reusable deployment frameworks and automation patterns
- Embed with customers to implement, tune, and operationalize detection capabilities in real-world environments
- Partner with security teams to integrate detections, workflows, and investigations into existing operations
- Advise on logging strategy, telemetry quality, and detection maturity
- Support threat modeling and incident response workflows
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior technical stakeholders
- Lead technical engagements with strategic partners and contribute to joint solution development
- Translate field learnings into structured feedback that shapes product direction
- Represent the platform externally as a technical voice
- Lead onboarding sessions, workshops, and technical enablement
- Develop architecture documentation, deployment guides, and playbooks
- Help customers move from proof-of-concept to production
Requirements:
- 5+ years in cloud engineering, SaaS architecture, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, SRE, or similar technical roles
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience integrating security, observability, or analytics platforms at scale
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals: detection engineering, logging, telemetry pipelines, threat models, and incident response
- Ability to communicate complex AI/ML concepts to both technical and operational stakeholders
- Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
- Experience working in customer-facing technical roles with both engineering and executive stakeholders
- Background in startup or high-growth environments
- Strong bias toward building and deploying real systems in production
