Job Title: Solar Project Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to support the design and construction of utility-scale solar BOT (Build-Own-Transfer) projects for external customers. This role will serve as the engineering lead for customer-contracted projects, managing third-party contractor teams and ensuring technical deliverables align with contractual, performance, and milestone requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in EPC project delivery, contract negotiation, technical coordination, and customer-facing engineering leadership within large capital or renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering support for utility-scale solar projects from proposal through commissioning and warranty.
- Review and interpret technical contract documents, customer requirements, and project specifications.
- Support customer negotiations and participate in technical discussions to refine contract scope.
- Translate negotiated technical requirements into internal engineering scopes of work.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project management, legal, and development teams for project execution.
- Manage and oversee third-party EPC contractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Support Independent Engineer reviews and resolve technical or scope-related issues.
- Apply value engineering principles to optimize project cost, performance, and reliability.
- Track project schedules, milestones, budgets, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
- 5+ years of engineering experience supporting complex external projects.
- Experience with large multidisciplinary infrastructure or energy projects.
- Strong understanding of contract documents, technical specifications, and scope management.
- Experience working with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to make sound technical and commercial decisions in customer-facing settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with utility-scale solar projects.
- Prior experience in EPC, BOT, or capital project delivery models.
- Knowledge of electrical, structural, civil, and materials engineering disciplines.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and milestone-based contracts.
