Job Description
seeking a Principal Systems Analyst / Engineer for a high-visibility, 100% CapEx-funded initiative based in Washington, DC.
This critical role serves as the primary technical lead for the deployment and operational support of large-scale Real-Time Information Systems and distributed digital infrastructure.
You will manage the complex intersection of new capital deployments and the maintenance of legacy vendor hardware, ensuring seamless integration between backend software architectures and physical endpoint components.
Operating in a fast-paced SAFe Agile environment, you will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle from high-level documentation and process mapping to deep-dive hardware/software troubleshooting ensuring system accuracy for mission-critical, public-facing displays.
Key Responsibilities
System Lifecycle & Documentation: Lead the creation of Project Life Cycle Management (PLM) artifacts, including business process maps, functional requirements, and technical specifications.
Deployment & Infrastructure Support: Drive the deployment of new digital signage and information components while providing essential O&M support for legacy vendor hardware and software interfaces.
Hardware & Software Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve deficiencies in both physical hardware components and backend systems (OS, App, DB, Network) to ensure high system availability.
Agile Integration: Collaborate within an integrated team environment using SAFe Agile methodologies to manage user stories, test plans, and scripts via Jira and Confluence.
Technical Advocacy: Act as a subject matter expert and confident presenter to project teams and stakeholders regarding system architecture and project roadmaps.
Environment Management: Oversee and automate Linux-based environments, managing network configurations (DNS, HTTP, SNMP) and firewall protocols (iptables/firewalld).
End-to-End Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test scripts to validate performance across distributed messaging platforms, including Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Qualifications
Experience: Bachelor s degree in CS, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or 10+ years of relevant work experience) in high-visibility, mission-critical environments.
Full-Stack Technical Depth: Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks (Angular or React).
Systems & Networking: Deep knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), and network security protocols.
Specialized Expertise: Proven background in troubleshooting the intersection of software and physical hardware components in a field or facility environment.
Software Toolset: Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 (including Project and Visio), ServiceNow, BitBucket, and Git version control.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex technical constraints and navigate the challenges of supporting both modern and legacy technologies.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear business process maps and stakeholder presentations.
