Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineers with a strong background in nuclear power plant design engineering to support the development of minor modification engineering change packages for active nuclear facilities. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the NEI Standard Design Process, 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations, and configuration management within an operating nuclear utility environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop engineering design modification packages for equipment upgrades and obsolescence resolution.
- Manage system modifications involving multiple vendors, engineering disciplines, and interfaces between legacy and modern plant systems.
- Ensure design changes meet nuclear safety, regulatory, and technical compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with plant operations, engineering teams, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders as the primary technical contact.
- Apply NEI Standard Design Process and configuration management principles to all design modifications.
- Perform 10 CFR 50.59 Applicability Determinations and Screening evaluations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring on nuclear electrical, I&C, and digital technology implementations.
- Support implementation of design changes while maintaining plant reliability and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
- Minimum 4+ years of nuclear power plant experience
- At least 2+ years of experience with the NEI Standard Design Process
- Hands-on experience with:
- 10 CFR 50.59 Applicability Determinations
- 10 CFR 50.59 Screenings
- Configuration Management
- Strong understanding of nuclear plant systems and discipline-specific codes/standards
- Excellent technical leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting operating nuclear utility facilities
- Knowledge of digital modernization in nuclear systems
- Strong problem-solving and engineering documentation skills
