Sr. Data Engineer

Thomson Reuters is a global company that provides trusted content and technology for professionals across various sectors. They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the development of their data platform and support customers with data-related technical work.

Responsibilities:

• The development of our overall data platform
• Supporting internal and external customers with data related technical work, to include planning, documentation, and coding
• Interacting directly with customers

Requirements:

• Have Bachelor of Science degree in a technical area (relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
• 7 years of data engineering experience
• Proficiency in SQL and Snowflake Data Cloud Platform, including complex queries and performance optimization within the Snowflake environment
• Experience with: Data Loading, Data Transformation, Data Extraction, Sharing and Replication
• Experience with: Security features, including access control, data masking and encryption
• Experience with: Data modeling across disparate data sources with a variety of formats and structures
• Experience with: Ontology development at a warehouse level
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc) for data processing and ETL scripting
• Passionate, smart, and articulate technologist
• Able to work independently based on high level instructions
• Possess a strong personal work ethic
• Desire to collaborate with a distributed team
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. National Security Clearance
• Able to support and teach others in areas of mastery
• Experience with formal SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) procedures
• Experience with version control software and methodology, preferably Github
