BetterHelp is the world’s largest online therapy service, dedicated to making mental health care more accessible. As a Product Designer for the Therapist platform, you will lead end-to-end design efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences and drive product innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end experiences, from discovery to user flows, wireframes, and production-quality UI in Figma
- Proactively identify UI/UX inconsistencies and experience gaps and propose scalable solutions
- Write detailed design specifications and partner closely with engineering throughout implementation and QA
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research to define problems, explore solutions, and align on outcomes
- Use quantitative metrics (experiments, analytics) and qualitative insight to evaluate shipped designs and drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to design quality across the org, participating in critiques, design reviews, and pattern evolution
- Influence strategy by synthesizing insights and highlighting opportunities for UX improvements and product innovation
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional product design experience in consumer-facing digital products
- Strong portfolio demonstrating research-driven design, UI/UX craft, and measurable product impact
- Expertise in creating advanced user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI in Figma
- Ability to think strategically while executing with detail, clarity, and speed
- Experience partnering with PMs and engineers on complex feature delivery
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to articulate rationale and influence stakeholders
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and structuring problems with limited information
- Experience designing for multi-sided marketplaces (e.g., client + provider experiences)
- Familiarity with mental health, healthcare, regulated workflows, or HIPAA considerations
- Knowledge of experimentation, CRO flows, or growth design
- Experience contributing to or using design systems in production
