Civil Engineer

Giga Energy is a rapidly growing startup focused on AI infrastructure, seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to lead site development projects. The role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle from feasibility and design to construction while ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed site layouts, including grading plans, drainage systems, utility routing, and structural foundations
• Conduct site assessments, geotechnical reviews, and environmental impact studies to determine project viability
• Navigate local zoning laws and building codes; manage the permitting process with municipal and state agencies
• Create and maintain project schedules and budgets; manage sub-contractors and vendors to ensure high-quality execution
• Design or review structural calculations for specialized equipment housing (e.g., pads for cooling units, heavy electrical infrastructure)
• Perform regular site inspections to ensure construction aligns with engineering specifications and safety standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• License is strongly preferred (or the ability to obtain one within 6 months)
• 5–8 years of experience in land development, industrial construction, or data center infrastructure
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar BIM software
• Strong understanding of hydrology, soil mechanics, and reinforced concrete design
• Familiarity with critical infrastructure requirements (Power, Cooling, and Fiber connectivity)
• Exceptional communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and government officials
