Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a proactive and results-driven South Region Reliability Engineer that will be based out of our regional reliability center in Deer Park, TX. This position will report to the Reliability Engineering Manager – South Region. The reliability engineer works with the national LGUS Reliability team and other corporate/regional/plant personnel to achieve strategic reliability goals.
As the South Region Reliability Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Using your engineering expertise, you’ll spearhead projects, analyze performance data, and proactively address maintenance and operational challenges. This role allows you to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to make data-driven decisions that enhance plant safety, reliability, and overall performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform failure analysis and RCAs on equipment failures. Develop corrective actions and track results.
Champion standard practices for preventive (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance processes at responsible sites.
Develop and modify maintenance procedures and PMs to improve equipment performance and reliability while minimizing repair costs.
Work with maintenance and operations teams to identify and resolve long term asset concerns (bad actors and reliability threats)
Analyze data and information from multiple sources to identify, recommend and justify life-cycle cost and reliability improvement activities.
Assist in engineering, design, specification and execution of projects to ensure optimal reliability and operability.
Develop and assist with Reliability Assessments of facilities and/or equipment.
Utilize Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement of Reliability.
Assist with setting up new facility reliability programs.
Assist with critical spare identification and BOM creations for critical assets
This position requires a combination of office work and field work, with a strong sense of urgency and integrity. This position requires approximately 25% travel domestically. Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is occasionally required.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance/reliability engineering in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Experience in maintenance and engineering of mechanical equipment in process industries such as Compressors, Heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, piping systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
Experience in understanding and interpreting P&ID and machinery drawings
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.
Experience in engineering, specification and design of mechanical systems, assets and projects.
Excellent communication, team interaction, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on cross functional teams.
Proven aptitude for multitasking and prioritizing assignments to meet competing deadlines.
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and driven to make an impact.
Experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
Understanding of machinery installation, commissioning and process optimization in an industrial manufacturing environment.
CMRP or CRE status.
Experience in CMMS systems such as Infor EAM.
Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and techniques.
Knowledge of reliability methodologies and strategies such as SPOF, FMEA, Spare Parts Management, Planning & Scheduling and CMMS optimization.
Vibration Analysis Certification (CAT 1 or 2)
Experience in Air Separation Units
