Our Property Tax Director will manage a team of property tax compliance professionals at the Lead Vice President, Vice President, Manager, Senior Associate, and Analyst levels who are responsible for the preparation and filing of state and local property tax returns, reviewing assessment notices, and procuring, approving and processing property tax bills.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Establishing operational objectives and work plans/work flows to ensure compliance functions that occur over the tax year calendar are completed on a timely basis
Directing and overseeing team leaders to ensure the timely delivery of client service
Interfacing with client contacts and communicating progress of deliverables
Mentoring staff on processes, analyses, reports, and deliverables
Developing, maintaining, and assessing the overall and individual goals of the compliance team members
Ensuring property tax team and its members provide best-in-class customer service to our clients
Essential traits:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of property tax related experience
Minimum 15 years of relevant property tax compliance experience, including leasing property tax compliance experience
Familiarity with property tax compliance software programs, with an emphasis on PowerPlan software/system experience and familiarity
In-depth knowledge of property tax filing requirements and procedures of various state and local jurisdictions
Excellent project management and presentation skills, including superior verbal and written communication skills
Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Excel
Previous experience leading a team of professionals
Excellent relationship management skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
