Reporting to the HR Manager – Payroll, the Payroll Officer plays a key role within a long-standing payroll team. The role ensures the efficient and accurate processing of our fortnightly payroll as well as administering and maintaining the payroll system. We currently use Aurion for payroll and HumanForce for time and attendance; however, we are about to embark on a digital transformation to consolidate our processes into a unified system.
Working closely with our HR Partners, HR Coordinators, and the Wellbeing and Safety team, the Payroll Officer is a critical role that is responsible for the smooth, effective and efficient administration of the pay run to enable timely payment of the organisation's salaries, wages and salary packaging. You will be continually supported throughout your journey by diligent and experienced team members within the payroll and broader HR team.
Duties include complying with the appropriate Awards and legislation, processing contracts, on- and off-boarding, PAYG tax, timesheet reconciliation, Superannuation, payment summary administration, reconciliations, month-end reporting, and responding to employee queries through a dedicated payroll service desk. Previous experience in manual calculations and processing in a high volume environment will be highly regarded.
This is a permanent full time opportunity based in South Melbourne.
