Two Six Technologies is a company that builds, deploys, and implements innovative products to solve complex challenges. They are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who will take ownership of architecting, deploying, and managing AWS-based infrastructure, while proactively identifying issues and improvements within the system.
Responsibilities:
- Take complete ownership of architecting, deploying, and managing our sophisticated AWS-based infrastructure, including services like EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, Fargate, Lambda, and SQS
- Independently drive and own our entire infrastructure as code strategy, expertly using Terraform and Terragrunt to build and maintain a fully automated environment
- Proactively identify and resolve system vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and reliability risks before they impact production, demonstrating a powerful personal drive to improve the platform
- Develop and maintain robust Ansible playbooks for advanced configuration management and automation, working independently to standardize and secure our systems
- Serve as a key escalation point in an on-call rotation, demonstrating strong ownership during incident response and in conducting post-incident reviews to drive preventative measures
- Manage and maintain the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) to maintain deep visibility into system health, performance, and security
- Define your own project priorities and manage deadlines based on business needs, demonstrating an exceptional level of self-management and initiative
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes (EKS)
- Ensuring test and production environments are secure and meet standards (i.e. FedRAMP, CMMC 2, SOC 2) required by corporate policy or contractual obligation
Requirements:
- Extreme Ownership & Self-Management: You must be a true self-starter, capable of defining your own tasks, managing your time, and delivering results without direct supervision. The ability to take complete ownership of a problem from start to finish is non-negotiable
- Proactive & Independent Problem-Solver: A powerful personal drive to hunt for potential problems and inefficiencies. You don't just fix what's broken; you work independently to seek out opportunities to improve system resilience, performance, and security on your own initiative
- Production-Obsessed Mindset: A deep and personal commitment to production environment reliability, uptime, and performance
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role, with a proven track record of working independently and taking ownership of production environments built with AWS, Terraform, and Ansible
- Infrastructure as Code: Deep, hands-on proficiency with Terraform, Terragrunt, and other modern IaC tools
- Compliance as Code: Experience automating evidence collection for FedRAMP, SOC 2 Type II, or similar audits, specifically within AI-integrated CI/CD pipelines
- AIOps: Proven experience leveraging AI-driven operations (AIOps) to automate incident response, perform predictive analysis on system health, and optimize CI/CD pipelines
- Configuration Management: Extensive experience authoring and maintaining and versioning complex Ansible playbooks using tools such as Github
- Cloud Platform (AWS): Expert-level knowledge of AWS services for designing highly available and secure infrastructure (EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, Fargate, etc.)
- Kubernetes: Strong production experience running HA EKS environments
- Monitoring & Logging: Experience with an observability stack using ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
- Containerization and Orchestration: Deep expertise in Docker and hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Helm
- CI/CD and Automation: Extensive experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions in an automated fashion
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Eligibility to obtain government clearance if required/needed
