OnTrac is a leading provider of same-day and next-day delivery services in the U.S., and they are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of products for their logistics and transportation network. This role involves ownership of the full product lifecycle and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance network operations and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Own and rationalize all software systems used within our current Transportation Network
- Simplify workflows across hub operations with a focus on consistency and execution
- Integrate our software systems to create Hands off the wheel automated solutions
- Define and own product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for logistics, transportation, and operational technology initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned to operational realities
- Identify and prioritize opportunities that improve network efficiency, cost structure, safety, scalability, and service performance
- Develop business cases, success metrics, and investment trade-offs to guide prioritization and execution; leverage data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to improve operational outcomes
- Translate customer and operational needs into clear product, functional, and technical requirements, managing delivery milestones, risks, and dependencies across multiple teams and systems
- Navigate operational, technical, and regulatory considerations that impact logistics and transportation products
- Assess product performance and iterate based on real-world results
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of package pickup & delivery operations (parcel experience preferred)
- Ability to translate operational needs into clear BRDs, define 'happy path' workflows, and deliver pragmatic, scalable solutions
- Proven experience driving end-to-end product rollout and adoption
- Proven experience working directly with SDE - providing clear direction on BRD to deliver the end product
- Exceptional skills in data analytics, BI tools, and systems integration
- High-level communications skills to influence decision-making and facilitate collaboration
- Typically requires at least 15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Travel Requirements: up to 25%
