Raytheon is a leading aerospace and defense company that offers co-op opportunities for students. The Software Infrastructure Engineering Co-op role involves developing DevOps concepts and working in an advanced product development team environment focused on modernized infrastructure systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop DevOps concepts, Containerization, and related product development for our program’s new modernized Infrastructure systems using tools such as: Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes
- Work in an advanced product development team environment with systems and Software Infrastructure Engineers
- Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques
- Software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense project
- Satellite ground system technologies
Requirements:
- Must be a Senior or Post-Graduate with graduation / completion of studies in May 2027, or August 2027 in Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
- Experience in software development utilizing scripting languages such as: Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash, or Shell (Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects)
- Experience with Information Technology Infrastructure and/or Software Engineering
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Ability to apply basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts
- Ability to develop solutions to routine technical problems
- Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Any knowledge/experience with Linux, Windows or related System Operating systems at the Command Line Interface is preferred
- Experience using development tools such as: Ansible, Chef, Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, GIT, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence or similar
- Experience with Network design and architecture schemes
- Experience with Cloud Technologies such as: AWS, Google, Gov
- DevSecOps Toolsets experience, either as user or implementor
- Software Development Lifecycle, including Agile philosophy
- Experience with Cyber security Concepts is a Plus
