Civil Project Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Civil Project Engineer to function as a Package Project Manager for key civil and architectural scopes on a large-scale capital project. This is an owner s representative role, focused on oversight, coordination, and accountability rather than hands-on field engineering.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in scope management, change control, and multi-stakeholder coordination, ensuring successful delivery of assigned packages in alignment with cost, schedule, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Package Ownership & Scope Management

• Act as Project Manager for assigned civil/architectural packages
• Serve as the primary point of accountability and contact for package delivery
• Oversee scope including:
  • Fireproofing
  • Exterior cladding / building envelope
  • Glazing systems
  • Roofing
  • Firestopping
  • Cold rooms (preferred experience)
• Ensure scope clarity, completeness, and constructability readiness

Change Order Management

• Review and validate change orders, including:
  • Scope accuracy and completeness
  • Identification of gaps or missing elements
  • Alignment between design intent and execution
• Ensure proper documentation and cost/scope justification

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate across multiple stakeholders:
  • EPCM partners
  • Design engineering firms
  • Construction contractors
• Drive alignment across scope, schedule, cost, and quality
• Participate in and lead progress meetings; ensure timely issue resolution

Project Oversight (Owner s Representative Role)

• Provide oversight rather than daily field execution
• Ensure all stakeholders are aligned and progressing as planned
• Maintain structured tracking of deliverables and dependencies
• Site presence is beneficial but not the primary responsibility

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Project Engineering / Construction Management / Project Management
• Proven experience managing $10M $15M+ project scopes
• Strong experience working as an Owner s Representative
• Hands-on experience coordinating with:
  • EPCM firms
  • Design engineering teams
  • Construction contractors
• Strong understanding of:
  • Scope definition
  • Change management
  • Package-level delivery
