Load Builder

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Load Builder works under the direction of the transportation supervisor and performs duties related to creating loads to be dispatched to transportation carriers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reviews available products/sales orders to create loads to ship.

• Communicates clearly and effectively using telephone and written instructions.    

• Enters move requests for items to be transported.    

• Maintains accurate data collection    

• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:      

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma / GED

• Experience in boat industry preferred     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Knowledge of products being shipped (boats, motors, trailers, parts, etc.)

• Strong PC literacy (MS Word, MS Excel)

• Organizational skills

• Ability to multi-task, answer emails and phone calls in timely manner

• Knowledge of AS400, willingness to learn new systems for order entry & load building

• Willing to work overtime as needed

• Occasional computer work

• Regularly Stands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
