DMI is a leading provider of digital services and technology solutions, headquartered in Tysons Corner, VA. They are seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to plan, design, and engineer upgrades and integrations to TSA's communication systems, ensuring they meet security and interoperability requirements.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist plans, designs, and engineers upgrades and integrations to TSA’s voice, video, and data communications systems, supporting both IT and operational technology environments across headquarters and airport locations nationwide
- This individual is responsible for engineering solutions involving VoIP, VTC, collaboration platforms (including Microsoft Teams and WebEx), cellular, Wi-Fi, and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, ensuring all designs meet TSA security, reliability, and interoperability requirements
- The Specialist works directly with TSA stakeholders and the O&M contractor to deliver transition-ready communications solutions that support TSA’s mission-critical screening operations
- Responsibilities include developing telecommunications architecture designs, integration specifications, and test plans; supporting lab validation and pre-production testing of voice and data systems; and producing cutover runbooks and SOPs that enable the O&M contractor to sustain delivered capabilities
- The Senior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist also supports engineering assessments for connectivity modernization initiatives, including the evaluation and integration of satellite and wireless alternatives for TSA airport locations
- The individual provides technical input to lifecycle replacement planning for aging telecommunications infrastructure throughout the TALON portfolio
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 years of telecommunications engineering experience is required in large enterprise or federal environments, with demonstrated proficiency in VoIP, VTC, collaboration platforms, and wireless systems
- Must be available to support after-hours implementation and cutover activities as required by the TSA operational calendar
- Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance
- All personnel must be U.S. citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents clearable through TSA's fitness determination process
- Familiarity with TSA's telecommunications environment, including EIS-governed services, LMR infrastructure, and airport connectivity requirements
