Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Infrastructure Management team. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, integrity, and security of Oracle database systems in a complex enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to database optimization and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases to ensure high availability and optimal performance
Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and related tools
Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, ensuring minimal downtime
Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations across environments
Implement and enforce database security policies, access controls, and compliance standards
Monitor database performance and conduct tuning and optimization activities
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to support database design and integration
Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs
Stay updated with emerging Oracle technologies and industry best practices
Required Skills & Experience
10 15 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration
Strong expertise in Oracle 12c and above
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming
Hands-on experience with:
Oracle RAC
Oracle Data Guard
RMAN (Backup & Recovery)
Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization
Experience with database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues
Preferred Skills
Experience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS)
Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tools
Experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Python)
Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice-to-Have Additions (Optional for Hiring Edge)
Experience with DevOps practices or CI/CD integration for database deployments
Exposure to containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
Knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools like OEM, Splunk, or AppDynamics
