Position: Mainframe Developers
Location: Wilmington, DE / Jersey City, NJ
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Mainframe Developers with strong expertise in CICS, COBOL, and IMS to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe applications, ensuring system reliability, performance, and scalability. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, and IMS
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of existing applications
- Support batch and online processing systems
- Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards
- Provide production support and resolve system issues in a timely manner
- Maintain documentation for system design, processes, and procedures
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, and IMS
- Experience with JCL (Job Control Language)
- Good understanding of DB2 or other mainframe databases
- Experience in batch and online transaction processing systems
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with VSAM and Endevor
- Knowledge of mainframe modernization or integration projects
- Experience in Banking, Insurance, or Healthcare domains
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies
