Data Architect (Expert / Lead)

Work Location: On-site, Tallahassee, Florida

Duration: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027

Purpose

We are seeking a senior Data Architect to support enterprise data systems, analytics, and database management across multiple divisions (500+ users).

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years of experience with large and complex database management systems.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Tasks

At a minimum, the Consultant(s) shall perform the following tasks:

• Responsible for enterprise-wide data design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors.

• Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts.

• Focuses on enterprise-wide data modeling and database design.

• Defines data architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements, and applies accepted data content standards to technology projects.

• Responsible for business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, Database Management Systems optimization, recovery strategy and load strategy design and implementation.

• Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert.

• Works on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.

• Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

Design and manage enterprise data architecture

Build data models, data marts, and operational data stores

Maintain and optimize SQL databases

Write queries, scripts, and automation workflows

Perform data analysis, trend identification, and reporting

Handle data migration and system tuning

Develop:

Technical design documents

Process flow diagrams

Data flow diagrams

Support OECS election-related data systems

Act as data administrator for intake systems

Collaborate with business and IT teams

Mentor junior staff
