CAD Technician I (Gas Engineering)

Location: Minneapolis, MN (Onsite Mon Thu, Remote Fridays)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract-to-Hire Potential)

Job Overview

We are seeking a junior CAD Technician I to support a growing gas engineering team in Minnesota. This role focuses on piping design projects including gas meter installations, commercial systems, and infrastructure related to roads and highways.

You ll work closely with a small, collaborative team, contributing to detailed AutoCAD-based engineering designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed CAD drawings for gas piping and infrastructure projects

• Interpret engineering sketches and convert them into technical drawings

• Collaborate with engineers and team members to refine designs

• Assist with site measurements and data collection when required

• Support design of above-ground piping systems, gas meter sets, and commercial layouts

• Ensure accuracy in calculations (materials, dimensions, stress factors)

• Maintain and update project documentation

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD / Autodesk tools

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

• Basic understanding of engineering design principles

• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Architectural Design, Drafting, or related field

• 0 2 years of CAD/design experience (entry-level candidates welcome)
